The best selling darts and my personal favourites
This is an article I'll enjoy researching and writing: the top 5 best selling Loxley darts of 2025, the previous years' best sellers and of course working out my own top ten favourite Loxley darts of all time.
Top 5 best selling Loxley darts of 2025
5) Flamingo
Despite being launched well into the year, the popular Flamingo darts have already make it into the top 5 most popular darts of the year.
4) Robin Pro Tour Edition 1
No surprise to see a Robin in the best sellers list. Six years running the Robin has been hot and every single model has made it into a yearly top 5 at least once.
3) Joker Part 2
The original Joker was popular but the Joker Part 2 is surpassing it and has broken new ground getting into the top 5 at number 3.
2) Shark
The Shark is a Loxley classic in the making. It's popularity has soared this year and is becoming a must have in any darts collection.
1) Acorn 95
For the second year running the top spot goes to the Acorn 95. Unlike most darts releases the Acorns have actually already sold more in their second year than their first and there's no let-up. If you don't have a set of Acorns yet - why not? These are a no brainer for any true darts fan.
Previous years best selling darts
2024
As already mentioned, the Acorn 95 was last years top dart as well, holding off Scott Baker into second place with no less than 3 Robins (Robin Gold, Pro Tour 1 and Pro Tour 2) all well inside the top 10.
2023
The Gold edition was the Robins top 5 representative in 2023 alongside the Bishop, John Part and the Ryan Searle Gens 1 and 2 (aka the Heavyweight and Super Heavyweight darts).
2022
Runners up this year were the Bull Model 1 and the Robin Model 2 darts. But a clear winner were the Gen 1 Searles, hardly surprising as Ryan had made his only major final appearance in November the previous year where he was 1 dart away from beating Snakebite at the Players Championship Finals.
2021
Obviously this year belonged to Ryan where he made the aforementioned major final as well as having a stellar year all round. The numbers 2 and 3 were of course the Robin Models 1 and 2. With the Aaron Beeney Gen 1 also making a top 4 appearance.
2020
Loxley only launched the first darts at the end of August 2020 and the year belonged to the Robin. Head and shoulders above the rest and a legend was born!
My personal top 10 favourite Loxley darts
10) Excalibur
Back in the early days of Loxley I threw the kitchen sink at a dart. It was the Moloko Plus but with gold and black coating and partial sand blasting. It was a mess but I really liked the feel of it. I also had a plain tungsten version lying around the office. Back in the first Loxley office we had 3 boards up and had regular training sessions with some of Hollands biggest dart players like Barney, Dirk, JDZ, Meuly, Immers, Scholten and of course all the Loxley players. These guys would have a play with prototypes I had lying around and among others, Vincent van der Meer took a shine to the Moloko Plus. Using it as a basis for a dart, together we came up with the Excalibur Model 1 after a few changes and prototypes. A couple of years later Vinny was playing with JDZ and Jeff actually suggested Vinny might suit a straight barrelled version. One prototype later the Excalibur Model 2 was born.
The Excalibur (and Moloko Plus) remain favourite darts of mine so it's a bit village of me that I keep spelling Excalibur wrong on social media!
9) Jelly Beeney
I love making Beeney darts (and packaging) and whilst I love the Baked Beeneys, as a darts player I have to give the edge to the Jelly's as they suit me more. I can throw them well with my normal extreme rear grip, as a traditional rear gripper and as a mid gripper.
8) Shark
Somebody suggested Shark as a new nickname for Owen Bates once the PDC banned Master Bates. My mind got wandering on a Shark themed dart but I didn't want to use the traditional shark grip. The shark fin grip is actually based on the famous Robin lip and I was really glad it works so well.
7) Angels and Demons
From the Reel Darts series this is the polar opposite of a dart I should be able to throw. Straight barrels never suit me, grippy rear section shouldn't suit me and at 97% tungsten it's as far away from my 70% match darts as you can get. Yet somehow it all just works for me, it also looks really sexy which is an added bonus.
6) Sheriff
The Sheriff was one of the original Loxley releases and the 2nd dart I ever designed. I'm still really happy with it and I'm particularly fond of the newer 20g version.
5) Robin
How could I not include Loxley's flagship dart in my top 5. The Robin is the dart that launched Loxley to fame and another one I still enjoy throwing as my "bit on the side".
4) Super Heavyweight
This dart has to be in my top 5 purely down to Ryan Searles televised 9 darter. Ryan really didn't know what he wanted for his Gen 2 darts apart from going up to 34 grams. Which was great for me as I'd been analysing his game and had a pretty good idea of what would suit him and he immediately loved it.
3) Acorn 95
I love these darts, they are just so much fun. I've even thrown them in a league match and I know a few players who actually use them as their match darts. You wouldn't think it but they are actually remarkably easy to throw a max with.
2) Tuck
The Tuck darts were the first set I ever designed so I'll always have a soft spot for them. I'm still delighted with the look and feel of them and they throw so well. Frustratingly though even after 5 years they are one of the only Loxley darts I've never hit a 180 with. Maybe they pull at my heart strings too much because I've bottled the 3rd dart on hundreds and hundreds of occasions.
1) Underdog
Of course this is my absolute favourite, it's my match dart that took me 5+ years to finally get right. It took me a long time to realise that for me, less is more. I've always liked front weighted and smoother darts and have a soft spot for lighter darts. Dropping down to 70% tungsten was a eureka moment for me and combined with the new Arrowhead points I've got a match dart that will stick with me for years to come. And the best thing about this dart is it will only feel better and better over time as impacts give it a subtle natural texture.
